Teaching Philosophy

For Ms. Schulz, teaching dance is about much more than learning choreography.

Her early childhood education background has given her a unique understanding of how children learn and develop, while her years in dance have allowed her to combine that knowledge with technique, artistry, structure, and fun.

She especially enjoys working with dancers of all ages and creating an environment where students feel comfortable enough to let their personalities shine.

Her goal is to help every dancer build confidence, discover their individuality, and develop a genuine love for dance—while creating a classroom where students can learn, laugh, grow, and make lasting memories.

Beyond The Studio

Outside of the studio, Emily is a foster parent and proud mom to her daughter, Harmony.

She enjoys spending time with her family, life with her cat, Callie, and, naturally, tacos and wine.

Emily is excited to continue sharing her love of dance with the Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance community and to create positive, encouraging experiences that students carry with them well beyond the classroom.
