Faculty Member | 4th Year
The McDance Company
Former Company Member
Ms. Sonn has been part of the RMSD community for approximately 10 years, experiencing the studio as both a dancer and instructor.
Her background with The McDance Company provided opportunities to develop her performance skills, work as part of an ensemble, and experience the commitment and teamwork required of a performing company.
Teaching Experience
Ms. Sonn currently teaches:
Contemporary • Lyrical • Poms
She also enjoys incorporating Irish Step whenever the opportunity arises.
Her teaching approach focuses on creating a positive and encouraging environment where dancers feel comfortable challenging themselves and developing their individual abilities.
Hannah believes that dance is not only about improving technique—it is also about learning how to work together, support one another, overcome challenges, and enjoy being part of a team.
Professional Career
Veterinary Assistant — Crystal Lake, Illinois
Outside of the dance studio, Hannah works as a veterinary assistant in Crystal Lake and is currently completing her certification to become a veterinary technician.
Her work in veterinary medicine reflects another area of her life centered around compassion, responsibility, teamwork, and caring for others.
Teaching Philosophy
For Ms. Sonn, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching dancers push beyond what they thought they could do and discover new confidence along the way.
She strives to create classes where dancers can:
Challenge Themselves • Build Confidence • Develop Technique • Work as a Team • Have Fun
Her goal is to make every dancer feel supported while encouraging them to work hard, embrace new challenges, and enjoy the experience of growing as a performer.
Having spent many years as an RMSD dancer herself, Hannah understands the importance of creating a studio environment where dancers feel like they belong.
Beyond The Studio
When she isn’t teaching or working with animals, Hannah enjoys staying active and pursuing a variety of interests.
Her favorite activities include:
Weightlifting • Pilates • LEGO Building • Beach Days • Time with Friends & Family
Whether she’s in the studio, at work, or spending time with the people and activities she loves, Hannah brings an enthusiastic and positive energy to everything she does.
She is excited to continue growing as an educator and to help the next generation of RMSD dancers challenge themselves, find their confidence, and create lasting memories as part of the dance community.
