Franny Komperda brings a unique combination of professional performance experience, dance education, and professional ambition to the faculty of Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance.

A member of the RMSD teaching staff for six years, Ms. Komperda is passionate about helping dancers strengthen their technique while encouraging them to develop confidence, individuality, and their own artistic voice.

Director — Junior Modern Company

Ms. Komperda has also served as Director of the Junior Modern Company, providing dancers with additional opportunities to develop their performance skills, artistry, discipline, and understanding of modern dance.

Her experience as both a performer and company director gives her a unique perspective when working with developing dancers and emerging artists.

As a member of the RMSD faculty, Franny works with dancers to strengthen their technical abilities while helping them discover their own individual approach to movement and performance.

Her teaching philosophy centers on developing dancers who are not only technically strong, but also confident, expressive, disciplined, and willing to take creative risks.

She particularly enjoys helping dancers recognize their own potential and watching their artistry develop as they gain experience and confidence.

Professional Career

Litigation Professional — Chicago Law Firm

Outside of the dance studio, Ms. Komperda works professionally in litigation at a Chicago law firm.

Her professional career reflects the same discipline, commitment, and drive that she brings to dance. She hopes to continue her education by attending law school in the future.

The combination of her professional legal career and background in dance gives Franny a distinctive perspective on dedication, communication, problem-solving, and pursuing long-term goals.

Beyond The Studio

When she isn’t working or teaching, Franny enjoys spending time with her five-year-old Golden Retriever, Ruby.

Whether she’s in the studio, in the workplace, or pursuing her next professional goal, Franny brings an energetic, focused, and enthusiastic approach to everything she does.
